Start Or Stop Service

How to Start Service: 

Customers will need to come into the office to begin service or can mail in your application with the required documentation and payment. Our office is located in the Conroe Municipal Center at 700 Metcalf St, Conroe, TX 77301.  The office is open Monday thru Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Requirements to begin service:

  • Complete the Utility Service Application and Service Agreement. Copies are also provided in our office.
  • A valid driver's license or identification card
  • Proof of property ownership or a lease agreement
    • Property Owner must provide a Bill of Sale, Settlement Statement, Title Transfer Warranty Deed or Closing Disclosure.
    • Renter / Tenant must provide a Lease Agreement.
  • Pay required deposit and service fee.
If mailing in the forms and required documentation, please include a check, money order or cashier’s check made payable to the City of Conroe. Please do not send cash in the mail. The minimum deposit for a residential account is $75 and $100 for commercial accounts with a meter size of 1" or less. Commercial accounts with a meter size larger than 1" need to call the Utility Billing Department at 936-522-3170, option 3 to get the correct deposit amount. There is also a required service charge of $15. We offer next business day service. 

How to Stop Service:

  • Complete the Disconnection Request Form. We can't stop service until we have a completed form. We offer next business day service.
