Deputy Chief Joe Craig 


Deputy Chief Joe Craig serves as the Training Officer for the Conroe Fire Department. Joe began his career with the Conroe Fire Department on October 1, 1997, serving as a firefighter for 10 years. On November 12, 2007, Joe was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant assigned to Operations on E1 and then E5. In June 2010, he transferred to the Fire Marshal’s Office where he spent four years as a Deputy Fire Marshal. On August 31, 2015 Joe returned to Operations as Lieutenant on Engine 5 and Hazmat 5. In February 2017, Joe was promoted to Deputy Chief and assigned to the Training Division.

Joe is a 2013 graduate of Lone Star College with AAS in Fire Protection and holds an Advanced Texas Peace Officer Certification. He is a Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI), Certified Evidence Collection Technician (IAAI-ECT), and Certified Fire Investigator Instructor (IAAI-CFII). He is certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as a Master Arson Investigator, Master Firefighter, Master Inspector, Master Aircraft Rescue Firefighter, Fire Service Instructor III, Fire Officer IV, Hazardous Materials Technician, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, and Incident Safety Officer. Joe is also a certified instructor with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and the Texas Department of State Health Services EMS.
