As a member of the City of Conroe's Management Team, I am very excited about the commitment that this group of professionals has exhibited toward customer service. This is attained through the dedicated men and women of this department, along with the state-of-the-art emergency response equipment and an aggressive training program .

Our Fire Marshal’s division is committed to service through prevention. Countless disasters, such as loss of life and/or property are averted with continuing public education programs and sound code enforcement policies.

Ken Kreger

Fire Chief / Emergency Management Coordinator

About the Fire Chief

Ken Kreger was hired by the City of Conroe in December 2005 as the Fire Chief and Emergency Management Coordinator. He previously worked through the ranks in the Orange Fire Department as a Firefighter, Public Information Officer, Captain, and the Deputy Fire Chief, as well as the Emergency Management Coordinator for the city. He retired from Orange with over 20 years of experience.

He has received two Associate Degrees from Lamar University of Beaumont, Texas. He has also received his Bachelors Degree from West Texas A & M University in Canyon, Texas. He has achieved the Executive Fire Officer designation from the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He holds a Master Fire Fighter Certificate, a Master Fire and Arson Investigator Certificate, a Master Inspector Certificate, a Intermediate Instructor Certificate, Fire Officer IV Certificate, and a Basic Peace Officer Certification.
