Franchise fees are charged to utility and garbage companies who utilize the City's right of way. To compensate the citizens of Conroe for that use, these companies pay a fee that is typically equivalent to 3% to 5% of their gross revenues. Franchise fees are collected for electricity, telephone, natural gas, cable television, and commercial and residential garbage collection. If you are a sole proprietor, partnership, or corporation that owns or operates a utility or garbage collection service in the City of Conroe, please contact the City Attorney's Office at 936-522-3030 for additional information.
