City of Conroe celebrates National Public Works Week

Conroe, TX: National Public Works Week holds a special place in the hearts of municipalities across North America, and Conroe is no exception. Mayor Jody Czajkoski, proclaimed May 19-25, 2024, as 'National Public Works Week' in Conroe to recognize our stellar Public Works team.

Public works services provided in our community are an integral part of our citizens' everyday lives, and the support of an understanding and informed community is vital to the efficient operation of public works systems and programs such as water, sewer, streets, street signage, public buildings, traffic signals." Mayor Czajkoski stated while reading the proclamation. 

Assistant City Administrator and Director of Public Works Norman McGuire encouraged Mayor Czajkoski and other Councilmembers who were present to settle a longstanding debate and determine once and for all that Public Works is the best department in the city to work in.

Public Works professionals focus on infrastructure, facilities, and services that are vital to the sustainability and resilience of our communities. 

Today's National Public Works Week luncheon and ceremony recognized Conroe's public works professionals, engineers, managers, and employees for their substantial contributions to protecting our health and safety and advancing the quality of life for all. As part of the celebration, teams competed in various Public Works-related games and lunch, concluding with an awards ceremony.
