BASIC POLICE ACADEMY 

In July 2009, the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) approved the Conroe Police Department's application to change from a Training Provider License to a Full Academy License.  With this endorcement, we are now allowed to provide a full Basic Peace Officer's Course or better known as a full "Basic Academy". 

This was indeed an honor for the Department and came from many hours of hard work by the members of the trianing unit and could not have been accomplished without the full support of the Police and City Administration including the Mayor and Council.  This position is difficult to achieve and is something in which the City should take a great deal of pride.

We expect to begin conducting basic academy classes in early 2010 depending upon Department needs.  We will only conduct classes when we have openings within our own Department.  The academy will only be available to those employed by the Conroe Police Department or those employed by other law enforcement agencies.
