The Department will work to enforce the laws, maintain order, educate the public and provide public assistance for the purpose of ensuring the highest quality of life. Commendations.....How to commend a Conroe Police Department employee: Write a letter to the employee's supervisor, the Deputy Chief, or the Chief of Police. Letters of commendation are logged and placed in the employees permanent personnel file. Send an e-mail to the Conroe Police Department. Call the Conroe Police Department and ask to speak with the employee's supervisor or the on-duty patrol supervisor. If you are unsure of an employee's identity, describe the employee and list the date, time, and location of the incident. Complaints.....How to file a complaint against a Conroe Police Department employee: When a person has a complaint against a Conroe Police Department employee, the complaint should be directed to an on-duty Patrol supervisor. The person may call the Police Department and arrange a meeting with an on-duty Patrol supervisor or the person may appear at the Police station at any time. The person making the complaint must have "standing", which means that the person must be the actual recipient of, or a witness to, the alleged misconduct. Texas law requires that a complaint against a Police Officer must be reduced to writing and signed by the person making the complaint. Just as citizens must be advised of the charges against them and given an opportunity to defend themselves, a Police employee must be given a copy of the complaint before any disciplinary action may be taken against them. Persons that make allegations of official misconduct that are proven to be untrue may be prosecuted for filing a false complaint and/or making false statements to a peace officer. All official complaints will be fairly and thoroughly investigated.
