SWAT School

Each year, the members of the Conroe Police SWAT team present a Basic SWAT school for Officers from our and other agencies.  This school meets and exceeds the requirements set forth by TCLEOSE concerning SWAT school criteria.  The school is designed to be a basic introduction into SWAT tactics, the team concept and basic SWAT equipment.  Although the school is strenuous, both mentally and physically, the emphasis is not on physical fitness.  Our belief is that we are to provide training, not the deciding factor whether you make your own team or not.

The school is six days in length beginning early Sunday afternoon and ending early Friday afternoon.  Each day is long and grueling.  The attendees are trained in a real life type environment.  Very little time is actually spent in a classroom.  The majority of the time is hands on training.  At the PD/FBI training facility the SWAT team has at its disposal live fire building, simunition building, multiple firing lines, obstacle course, rappel tower, etc to provide the perfect setting for SWAT training.
