Welcome to the City of Conroe Community Development Department Home Page. The Community Development Department was created by City Ordinance in 1974, and has played an important role in the growth of the City from its beginning. The Community Development Department has many diverse duties and is the responsibility of the Director of Community Development, Nancy S. Mikeska. The Department is located in the Conroe Tower at 300 W Davis, Conroe, TX 77301, with the Permits and Building Department on the 1st Floor and the Administrative Office and Code Enforcement on the 5th Floor.
The Community Development Department is designed to create conditions of economic and social standards that produce tangible and sustainable benefits for the Community and the City as a whole. Community Development is many times considered the face of the City because it is the Community Development staff that interacts daily with Conroe Citizens on a number of multifaceted issues. Many staff members hold professional licenses and bring expertise to their respective fields. Whether you wish to do something as simple as hold a garage sale, or apply for City water and waste water service, or if you are working on a multi-million dollar construction project, the Community Development Department will assist you.
