• 1890'S - Downtown businesses district began to develop
• 1900's - Early years, lumber, timber and later oil and gas boosted position
• 1901 - Conroe survived devastating fire & named "The Miracle City"
• 1904 - Conroe Incorporated as a city & named after Issac Conroe
• 1911 - Second Downtown Fire
• 1920 - First City Hall built 
• 1924 - City orders election for authorization to issue bonds for $49,000 to construct sanitary services and a sewage disposal plant.
• 1930 - First red light in Downtown Conroe
• 1930's - Current courthouse constructed
• 1930's - Capitol Drug Store 
• 1930's - Crighton Theatre built for live entertainment
• 1950 - Elvis Presley performs at the Crighton 
• 2006 - Population approximately 45,000
