LABORER - SEWER
SALARY: (Gr. 60) $23,083(11.09/hr) - $28,853(13.87/hr) Application period: June 18, 2008 - Until Filled
JOB SUMMARY AND PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
This position performs ordinary, labor intensive tasks commonly related to water and sewer system construction and maintenance. Also assisting operator in any way necessary to the completion of the job.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be able to safely operate crew truck, dump truck, and tractor type equipment.
- Must be able to use all tools to accomplish the job in an efficient manner.
- Must possess excellent manual dexterity and a complete understanding of hand tools and the application of the many types of fittings and repair accessories.
- Must understand how and when to lubricate and clean and be aware of the warning signs of potential equipment breakdown.
- Must be able to lift weights of one hundred pounds.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and a doctor's physical examination.
- Must be able to obtain Valid Texas Class "B" Commercial Drivers License.

Must be able to obtain a Class II sewer collection license and a Class D water license.
Must be be capable of obtaining the required certification for the position
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one-year experience in Public Works preferred.
