MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

The City maintains a job description, which establishes the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for each position and the acceptable levels of experience and training for each.  The job description sets forth the minimum qualifications required to fill the position.

To be considered for a position, an applicant must submit a completed City of Conroe application and attaching a resume is recommended; consistent with stated requirements on the job vacancy notice.

  • An applicant must apply for a specific job on the City's current job posting lists. Applications will not be accepted for any positions not posted.
  • Applicants must submit a separate application and attachments (certificates, etc.) for each position for which they are applying.
  • All materials submitted for consideration will be considered the property of the City of Conroe and will not be returned. Applicants selected for employment must have on file a completed City application, prior to beginning employment.
EVALUATION OF APPLICANTS

Reference checks, interviews, medical examinations, background checks, job related testing, and/or other screening procedures may be used as appropriate.

Applicants shall be required to provide any information and undergo any examination necessary to demonstrate competency and ability to perform requirements of the position.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS

The City of Conroe employs approximately 500 full and part time employees. We maintain an internal and external job announcement system advising existing employees and potential job applicants of job vacancies and job requirements. Job announcements are posted online, on a job board located outside of the Human Resources office and on the 24 hour- telephone service recorded message Jobline at 936-522-3160.
