Leave BenefitsVacation Leave Each full time employee of the City of Conroe, Texas, shall accumulate vacation leave with pay as follows:
Sick Leave Sick leave is accrued at the rate of 1 ¼ days per month beginning with the first month of employment. Police and Fire Civil Service employees are paid for accrued but unused sick leave on termination up to a maximum of ninety (90) days. Other employees do not receive payment for unused sick leave balances until they have reached their five (5) year anniversary. Employees with at least five years of service are paid for unused sick leave on termination up to a maximum of ninety (90) days. An employee may accumulate sick leave without limit and may use the leave if unable to work due to a bona fide illness. Funeral Leave Employees are allowed up to 3 working days for death in the immediate family. Those considered to be immediate family are the employee's spouse, children, father, mother, brother, sister, father in law, mother in law, brother in law, sister in law, and grandparents of the employee or his spouse. Employees may be required to provide proof of necessity for such time off. City Holidays City Council designates holidays for City employees. The following days are observed as paid holidays for full time employees.
