Turkey Trot 5K

Camp Fun Quest Holiday Camp

Camp Fun Quest Holiday Camp is kid-approved and jam-packed with fun for children who are in K-6th grade. The adventure takes place at the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center the week of Thanksgiving under the close supervision of trained Fun Quest Staff (10:1 camper/ staff ratio). Space is limited, so beat the waiting lists and register early! Registrer at the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center (100 Park Pl.) On The Road To Healthy Living: Holiday Edition

This award winning program is provided by the Texas A&M Extension Service. Sessions include hands on preparation of healthy food for the holidays and participants enjoy a family style meal as they discuss food substitutions/alternatives. Classes take place on Wednesdays 6-8:00pm for ages 8 & Up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This informative and fun program is FREE and takes place at the Conroe Activity Center. The Conroe Aquatic Center offers individualized instruction designed to help participants overcome fears or improve existing skills.  The cost is $12 for City of Conroe Residents and $15 for Non-Residents per ½ hour class. Our certified personal trainers can help you reach your goals while providing personal attention and valuable information. A one-hour session will evaluate your current condition and suggest a path to move towards a healthier lifestyle. Sessions are by appointment only for clients ages 18 and up with a valid recreation center membership. Personal training options include a one person session at $30 per hour, a two person session at $40 per hour, and a three person session at $55 per hour. Northside Karate

Northside Karate is held every Tuesday and Thursday at the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center, and offers a unique blend of martial arts with six different styles: Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Free Style Karate, Shotokan, Wing Chung and Jeet Kun Do. The City of Conroe Parks and Recreation Department provides one of the best and most affordable after school programs in the area. The program is available in 10 locations including Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center (OJJCC), Anderson, Armstrong, Austin, Bozman, Patterson, Reaves, Runyan, Sam Houston and Wilkinson. Children attending Cryar, Giesinger, Rice and Travis are also provided care with transportation provided back to OJJCC. Financial assistance is available for qualifying families.
